All mechanics can be disabled by disabling "USE_CUSTOM_MECHANICS" in the config.yml of your server. Following this are a list of all the custom mechanics and their technical specifications.

Blast Processing

Blast processing is one of my favorite mechanics for SimpleSkyblock. It allows users to get more materials, but it also introduces a new challenge. Following is a table of the blasting blocks and outcomes.

Material Outcome
Cobblestone Overworld:100%: GravelNether:50%: Netherrack50%: Gravel
Gravel Overworld:100%: SandNether:50%: Glowstone50%: Sand

How does this allow users to get dirt?

With the addition of Coarse Dirt into Minecraft, users can now acquire dirt with the ability to get gravel. First, a user must collect 2x dirt and 2x gravel to craft 4x coarse dirt, then he may hoe the coarse dirt to turn it into dirt, making it possible to get 4x dirt from 2x gravel and 2x dirt.

Implementations

Early game users must use a creeper farm of sorts to get gravel, allowing them to get more dirt. Late-game a user may use TNT acquired from produced sand and a mob grinder.

Bonemeal does more

Because I often received complaints of users losing all of their grass or the inability to get certain saplings or plants, I added Bonemeal does more! Bonemeal does more has three implementations:

Dirt

Bonemealing dirt a whopping 32 times (on average) turns one block of dirt into a grass block. This is mainly for users who lost their grass block, and is not meant to be an easy way to get grass.

Grass

Bonemealing above-water grass gives a random chance (one in eight) to get a random plant. The following plants are receivable (equal chance) for bonemealing grass.

  • Oak Sapling
  • Jungle Sapling
  • Dark Oak Sapling
  • Birch Sapling
  • Acacia Sapling
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Melon Seeds
  • Beetroot Seeds
  • Bamboo
  • Sweet Berries

Underwater dirt or grass

Bonemealing underwater dirt or grass gives a random chance (also one in eight) to get a random aquatic plant. The following plants are receivable (equal chance) for bonemealing underwater dirt or grass.

  • Kelp
  • Sea Pickle

Implementations

When a user needs a plant or the sapling they started with was lost, they can now receive one without resetting their island. To be honest, this is a huge pain, but it is easy with a mob grinder. It allows users to get all the vegetation they could ever want!

Cobble Heating

Cobble Heating is designed to allow users to get more lava in a painfully slow early game manner. It allows users to craft coal blocks, put them under cobblestone blocks, light it on fire, and see if they hit the jackpot (1 in 10), which changes the cobblestone into lava.

Implementations

If a user needs more lava but doesn't have a nether portal yet, they can get lava in a painfully slow but balanced way!

Soul Sand

Soul Sand, added in the Nether update, is designed to allow users to get soul sand. It works by turning the sand underneath any mob killed to soul sand if they are in the nether.

Implementations

Allows users to get more soul sand (mainly for nether wart farming and brewing) in a balanced way.
