That is a legacy feature of MTG Studio that is not present any more.

It was used to validate the downloaded on disk card art follow the desired naming convention of cards.

Recent years it became increasingly hard for individuals to track all reprints and MTG Studio started offering automated download of the card art.

This way the burden was shifted to the developers of MTG Studio instead of every user having to rename thousands of files themselves.
