Hello? What is this 'mod'? What am I doing here? - frqnny/dark-enchanting GitHub Wiki
So, you've downloaded this mod. You might even think it's kind of cool. But how do you even begin to use it? Fear not, noob!
Start by buying a PC. Then go to minecraft.n- oh wait, you've already done this? Great! Let's assume you have the mod installed and that you are in a world.
First, acquire the resources necessary and craft the Dark Enchanter (PS: Use REI mod!)
You may also acquire a Table Upgrade using the same recipe without the Enchanting Table. Right-click a vanilla enchanting table to turn it into its sinister, darker variant.
>> Cool, now what?
On the GUI, you will see several important numbers. First, some basics. The Dark Enchanter calculates experience costs based on single XP points. This is because not all levels are worth the same. Imagine trying to go from Level 2 to 5 vs Level 64 to 65. The gap in difficulty is very large, so it is better to use experience points themselves to balance your gameplay. Next, there are two operations the table produces. It can repair and enchant your item, as its corresponding R and E will suggest. It will show you whether you can receive/pay XP from the transaction as well.
Discounting in this mod is an advanced procedure, requiring you to build the Dark Shrine, an expensive but luxurious way to get better deals on your enchanting if you wish to do so.
You are now able to enchant! If you have any questions, feel free to make an issue on GitHub or contact us on our discord.
