Vulcan - friznit/Unofficial-BDB-Wiki GitHub Wiki
Background
Vulcan is derived from a mix of Delta IV and Atlas technology. The first stage tanks are derived from Delta IV and powered by methalox-fuelled BE-4 engines, whilst the GEM 63XL SRBs are from Atlas V. An upgraded Centaur V upper stage features a widened tank to match the diameter of the 5.4m core and four RL-10C engines. The Advanced Cryogenic Evolved Stage is still in development but is essentially similar to Centaur V and includes an Integrated Vehicle Fluids combustion engine to re-use the boil off gasses.
The numbering convention for Vulcan is the same as Atlas V, with the first number referring to the fairing diameter, second being the number of boosters and third the number of engines on the upper stage.
Mod: Hephaistos by Superpenguin160 is a standalone expansion to BDB, designed to work either on its own or augmented with BDB parts.
