A Chickadee is a passive mob that was added in the 1.1 Update. They are known for their signature "chick-a-dee-dee-dee" alarm call.

Behavior

Movement

Chickadees fly randomly and prefer to fly towards tree tops. They will swim when in contact with water. Being diurnal, they sleep at night.

Breeding

Chickadees can be bred using wheat seeds, melon seeds or beetroot seeds. Baby chickadees will follow their parents. Females lay 1-6 eggs, and each egg has a 30% chance of hatching.

Spawning

Chickadees spawn in forests in groups of 2-3.
