A Bunting is a passive mob. They were added in the 1.5.0 Color Update.

Behavior

Movement

Buntings fly randomly and prefer to fly towards tree tops. They will swim when in contact with water. Being diurnal, they sleep at night. Buntings also exhibit flocking behavior, and will congregate in groups of 10 (max).

Breeding

Buntings can be bred using wheat seeds, melon seeds or beetroot seeds. Baby buntings will follow their parents and cannot fly. Females lay 1-4 eggs, and each egg has a 40% chance of hatching.

Spawning

Buntings spawn in forests in groups of 1-3. Their default spawn weight is 20.
