A musical group is a Musical Artist that consists of more than one person. Instances can include everything from pop duos to orchestras and artists that only record or publicly perform together once. When multiple Artists or Musical Groups collaborate, they should only be typed as a Musical Group if they have designated a new name for their Musical Group.

• Duos (e.g.: Simon and Garfunkel)

• Artists who have never recorded (e.g.: The Tonight Show Band under bandleader Kevin Eubanks)

• A backing band that plays with different soloists (e.g.: The Dap Kings who play behind Sharon Jones and Amy Winehouse)

• Orchestras (e.g.: The New York Philharmonic)

• Groups that preform together once and have a group name (e.g.: USA for Africa, the artists that recorded the original "We Are The World")

• Casts of musicals (e.g. The Cast of Mamma Mia)

• Solo Artists (e.g.: Michael Bublé)

• Use type Musician, possibly co-typed with Musical Artist

• Groups of musical people who are not performers (e.g.: Gilbert and Sullivan and Rodgers and Hammerstein)

• Other groups of performers (e.g.: The Cast of Baywatch)

• Collaborating artists (e.g.: Elton John and the artists on his "Duets" album)

• List each artist on the album and musical track they recorded.

• TV casts that record an album (e.g. The Original Munsters TV Cast -- The Munsters Album)

• Type as Musical Group
