A symptom is an indication of the existence of a disease or medical condition. A symptom can be either a sensation, a change in health function or a physical condition which indicates a particular illness or disorder in humans.

Purely subjective symptoms noticed only by the patient (e.g. Anxiety, Dizziness, Back pain)

Objective signs detected upon physical examination or medical testing (e.g. Breast lump, Hematuria, Blumberg sign, Duroziez’s sign)
