A medical specialty is a branch of medical science that any medical practitioner can have as a specialization. They can do this by furthering their medical studies to focus on that specialization and completing a multiple-year residency.

- Cardiology - Cardiology is a medical specialty that deals with the heart and its disorders. It includes diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions. Physicians who specialize in this field of medicine are called cardiologists.
- Neurology - Neurology is a medical specialty dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease that affect the nervous system. A neurologist is a physician specializing in neurology.
- Pediatrics - Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents up to 18 years old. A medical practitioner who specializes in this area is known as a pediatrician.
