Identity Criterion for Island

Features for establishing identity relationships

  • name_match: There is a name_match if the names of the islands or their aliases listed on both the sources match. Sometimes island names may match approximately, may be localized or may be abbreviated on the sources.

  • island_group_match: There is an island_group_match if the archipelago or island group listed in Freebase property /geography/island/island_group (Island Group) matches with the island group on the other source.

  • body_of_water_match: There is a body_of_water_match if the island’s body of water listed in Freebase property /geography/island/body_of_water (Body Of Water) matches with the body of water on the other source.

General guidelines for establishing identity between two Islands

Here are some typical patterns for determining identity of two islands:

  1. name_match and island_group_match. (Example 1)
  2. name_match and body_of_water_match. (Example 2)
