• name_match : There is a name_match if the names of the film directors or the aliases on both the sources match. The match may also be approximate due to the topics having person’s maiden names, nick names, missing/extra middle names, prefix/suffix (such as Jr., Sr.), initials, or names in different languages.
• films_directed_match :There is a films_directed_match if at least one of the directed movies listed in Freebase property /film/director/film (Films directed) matches with the movies on the other source.
• awards_match : There is an awards_match if at least one of the nominations or awards (with the association/country, category and years) that the film director received matches with the awards on the other source.

Here are some typical patterns for determining identity of two film directors:

1. name_match and films_directed_match. (Example 1)
2. name_match and awards_match. (Example 2)

Identity features, patterns and examples for /people/person/ type are also applicable for establishing identity in type /film/director.

Pattern 1 Example 1: Permalink Here the name of the film directors and some of their directed films match on both the sources. Hence the directors are identical.
