The College/University type is used for institutions that offer tertiary level education and grant degrees. This type includes universities, four-year colleges, community colleges, technical colleges, etc.
A College/University is an educational institution offering tertiary education, providing facilities for teaching and research and authorized to grant academic degrees. In this context, an academic degree is a college or university diploma which is awarded to a student after having satisfactorily completed a prescribed degree program or course of study. The most common degrees awarded are associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral. Typically, a college/university has board of trustees; a president, chancellor, or rector; at least a vice president, vice-chancellor, or vice-rector; and deans of various divisions.
