Comedian (/comedy/comedian)
Type Definition
A comedian is a person who performs or performed comedy as a performing art with the intent of making people laugh. The performance may be before a live audience or recorded. Comedians may tell jokes or perform sketch comedy.
Acting in comedic film or television show does not necessarily make someone a comedian. See below.
Entities That Are Comedians

- People whose comedic performance has been recorded on a visual or audio format, either solo or as a group (e.g. Eddie Murphy in "Delirious" or Tommy Chong in the album "Cheech and Chong")
- People who perform sketch comedy either solo or as a group (e.g. regular cast members of Saturday Night Live or members of Monty Python)
Entities That Are NOT Comedians
