A structure is a large, outdoor and immobile man-made object that is constructed or built. A structure has a fixed location. Buildings, bridges, tunnels, dams, prehistoric structures, tombs and monuments are structures. Note: All buildings are considered as structures but not all structures are buildings.

• Buildings such as the Empire State Building and Burj Khalifa

• Bridges such as the London Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge

• Tunnels such as the Thames Tunnel and the Seikan Tunnel

• Dams such as the Three Gorges Dam and the Bhakra Nangal Dam

• Prehistoric and historic structures such as the Stonehenge and the Great Wall of China

• Tombs and monuments such as the Tomb of Antipope John XXIII

• Artworks can be typed as structures as long as they meet the criteria - large, immobile, outdoor man-made object (e.g. B of the Bang).

• Animal-built structures such as beaver dams and anthills

• Mobile items such as cars and airplanes

• Use the automobile model type for specific car models.

• Use the aircraft type for airplanes.

• Small items such as road signs and mailboxes

• Indoor items such as sculptures

• Use the artwork type for indoor sculptures.

• Reservoirs that are formed as a result of a construction of a dam such as the Brent Reservoir

• Use the Lake, Body Of Water and Geographical Feature types for these.

• Construction projects that include more than one single and separate structure such as canals, highways, airports or just group of buildings (e.g. Panama Canal, Alaska Highway, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Niels and Mellie Esperson buildings). They can be typed as a project focus.
