Freebase currently contains nearly 55k instances of TV Programs. TV programs include regular broadcasts (e.g. TV news), TV series (shows) or miniseries, television specials, made-for-TV movies and infomercials. A TV program is subdivided into seasons and each season contains a number of episodes.
The X-Files is an example of a TV program with 9 seasons and 202 episodes. Slight deviations from this schema are formed by multipart TV episodes, which constitute a part of a regular TV show. The Pirate Planet is an example of a mutipart TV episode, a 4-part serial of the television series Doctor Who. Each of the four parts is typed as TV episode.
