The Character Sheet - free-beer/bh2e GitHub Wiki
This page outlines the functionality provided by the character sheet provided with The Black Hack 2e system. To access the character sheet you must create a character actor in a Foundry world that is using The Black Hack 2e as it's game system. Alternatively, you can open an existing character within such a world to view the character sheet. When opened the character sheet looks something like that shown below...
The Left Hand Column
The left hand column of the character sheet contains the character portrait and the list of attributes for the character. You can click on the portrait icon to assign an image to it from the list available in your FoundryVTT installation. Beneath the character portrait are your characters attributes. These are initially assigned a value of 10 but are directly editable by clicking on the value field.
The Character Details Area
The top area of the right hand part of the character sheet contains details relating to your character and looks something like this...
This area contains a number of fields detailing aspects of your character. The following fields can be freely edited by clicking into them - name, player name, class, level, HP maximum and HP current. The remaining three fields - hit die, damage die (armed) and damage die (unarmed) - are dropdowns that you must select a value from the offered range.
The Main Character Sheet Body
Beneath the character details area is a set of tabs. Brief details for what each tab possesses is given below.
Basics Tab
The first tab, labelled the Basics tab, contains the character equipment area that lists the weapons, armour, general equipment and abilities possessed by a character. This area that will look somewhat like the following...
Weapons
There will be an entry in this section for each weapon that a character possesses. Weapons will be listed with their name, type (melee/ranged/unarmed), the attribute that they use for making attack rolls and their size (normal/large). To the right of these details, for each weapon, will be a set of action icons. The first icon will be a dice icon that makes an attack roll with the weapon. The second icon will delete the weapon from the characters equipment.
Armour
There will be an entry in this section for each piece of armour that a character possesses. Note that shields are considered armour and should be consider as such when creating them as equipment items. For each entry the section lists it's name, total armour dice and total number of currently broken armour dice. To the right of these details, for each piece of armour, are a set of actions items. The first icon breaks a single armour die for the item. The second icon repairs a single armour die for the item. The third icon will delete the piece of armour from the characters equipment.
Note that there is a single action icon in the header for the armour area. This icon will repair all armour dice for all armour items that the character possesses and provides a short cut for when everything gets repaired.
Equipment
There will be an entry in this section for all non-weapon and non-armour items that the character possesses. For each entry the section lists a name, a quantity possessed and a usage die if applicable. To the right of these details, for each piece of equipment, are a set of action icons. The icons listed will depend on whether or not an item of equipment makes use of the usage die.
For items that do have a usage die then the first icon shown will roll the usage die for the item. If the usage die roll indicates a downgrade then the usage die will be automatically downgraded for the item. If the usage die reaches a state of exhausted then the items quantity will also be lowered by 1 to indicate that the item has been consumed. The second icon for items with a usage die will reset the usage die to it's normal maximum state. Using this icon does not consume the item and therefore will not lower the possessed quantity. The next two icons will raise and lower the quantity associated with the item by one for each click.
The final icon that will be shown in the equipment list of action icons will delete the equipment item from the characters equipment list. Note that this icon is always available, even for items without a usage die.
Abilities
Beneath the equipment list is the characters abilities area. This will be used to list abilities that the character has acquired from their race, class or any other source desired. The only action icon offered for abilities is the one to allow them to be removed from the list of character abilities. The abilities section of the character sheet will look something like the following...
