Mobile Top-up Using Zcash

I am thrilled to write about “mobile top-up” using one of the promising privacy-focused projects, Zcash! In this guide, you’ll learn how to buy airtime with $ZEC; if Zcash is completely foreign to you and you haven’t used any of her wallets before, don’t fret, buddy! I promise to make onboarding as seamless as possible.

Let’s cut to the chase

What is Zcash?

The champions of privacy-focused transactions. Unlike public blockchains (Bitcoin, Solana, and Ethereum), where transactions are public (everyone knows how much you earn, spend, and invest), Zcash allows you to choose between transparent and shielded transactions. So users can share financial details with trusted parties if needed.

Zcash Wallet

When it comes to wallets, there are many options to choose from: we have the likes of Zingo!, YWallet, and Zashi — just to name a few!

Working With Memos

One very fascinating feature of Zcash wallets is the memo field: an optional encrypted field that allows senders to add information or a message along with the transaction.

See examples of use cases below.

Mobile Top-up Using Zcash

  1. First things first: visit Coinsbee.com and create an account.

  2. Scroll to the top left corner and select your country; in that manner, choose mobile phone credit — select the network that you’d like to top up! I’m using MTN.

  3. Fill in the correct details and hit the “Buy Now” button. Open the cart to view your order, click continue, and confirm the purchase with $ZEC.

  4. The equivalent in $ZEC will be provided, and a transparent address where the funds will be sent.

  5. Copy and paste the amount and address correctly; in the memo field, add your YWallet address in case there will be a refund.

  6. Once the funds have been sent, your request will be processed within a few minutes.

  7. Hey… My line has been credited! You could also confirm your email during the payment process so you’ll get notified via email once the transaction is completed.

Other Places to Spend $ZEC

Recently, Zcash has witnessed several new application areas, making it even more practical for everyday use. Many online stores and merchants accept ZEC as a payment method for goods and services, especially those prioritizing privacy-friendly transactions. If you own a business and want to start accepting ZEC payments? With PayWithZash, your business could be added to the list of businesses that accept ZEC for the services they provide.
