Habitat Quick-Reference

Joystick Controls

While pressing the Fire button:

Joystick Direction Function Details
UP GO Moves your avatar to the area of the screen your cursor is pointing to.
Makes your avatar walk through the door you are pointing at.
When activated at edge of any region, your avatar will walk to the neighboring region if one exists.
DOWN DO DO activates the object you are pointing at. It also selects any menu item you are pointing at.
LEFT PUT Places any object in your hand at the location, Avatar, or container you are pointing at, or puts the object from your hand into your pocket when pointing at your Avatar's body.
RIGHT GET Picks up the object that you are pointing at when not glued down (note, your Avatar's head is not glued down), or shows the contents of your pocket when pointing at your Avatar's body.

Function Keys

Function Key Function Details
F1 Ghost Ghosts and Unghosts your avatar.
F2 Toggle Region Change Music Toggles the region changing music on and off.
F3 & F4 Who’s Here? Displays the list of the last few avatars that logged into Habitat.
F5 & F6 Current Build Displays information on the current server build you are using.
F7 Help Displays the help text of the object you are pointing at.

Displays the identity of the avatar you are pointing at.

Displays the key number of the key you are pointing at.
F8 Current Build Displays general tips that may prove useful to you during your time inworld.

ESP

In the chat text entry box type “To:(Avatar Name)” and press [ENTER]

MAIL

Take a piece of paper out of your pocket and on the first line type “To:(Avatar Name)”. Compose your message, and when complete press the Mail It button at the bottom of the screen.

Exiting

To exit Habitat and return to Q-Link, press SHIFT-ESC. Please note, this can sometimes cause issues if you are using an emulator and so we recommend just closing out completely. Currently, it has not been tested with real hardware.

Note: Not all features have been implemented at the time of this writing, attempting to use an unimplemented feature will result in a warning message.
