Band Map - foldynl/QLog GitHub Wiki
The Bandmap contains spots received from DX Cluster. It follows the DX Cluster filter setting.
The frequency range is selected according to information from a rig or a frequency defined in the Frequency field (New QSO). The band view can be switched also via a context menu of the Bandmap.
Users can open multiple Bandmap windows, each displaying a specific band. This allows monitoring of different bands at the same time. Opened Bandmaps are automatically saved in the Classic Layout profile. Otherwise, the Bandmap layout is saved when Save Arrangement is called.
Users can also define a spot ageing period. Spots are removed from the Bandmap after the specified time.
The spot's colors depend on DXCC status (Worked, New Band, New Country - more details in Main Window.) and the colors are recalculated after each QSO.
The blue bar next to each frequency indicates the selected operating mode and its place in the amateur radio band. This gives the operator a quick visual reference.
If the operator clicks on a callsign, QLog tunes to the spot frequency.
The callsign's tooltip contains Callsign, Frequency, Mode and DX Cluster comment - if a mouse position is on a callsign then the tooltip is shown.
QLog can add a mark to the current Bandmap. Enter mark text into the Callsign field and press CTRL+M. The rig can be tuned by clicking on a mark or callsign.
Currently tuned RX frequency is marked with a green triangle, the TX frequency is marked with a red triangle.
Use Ctrl + mouse wheel on the Bandmap to zoom in or out.
Bandmap Guide
The Bandmap Guide shows colored frequency ranges on the left side of the Bandmap. It can be used as a visual guide for mode or band plan areas. The default guide is IARU Region 1.
The guide can be selected in the Bandmap context menu or in File →Settings → Band. A guide profile contains a name and one or more frequency ranges. Each range has:
- Start frequency
- End frequency
- Color
- Optional label
Guide profiles can be imported and exported as QLog Bandmap Guide files.
The Bandmap Guide is only a visual helper. It has no impact on the mode detection.
IBP Frequencies
QLog can show IBP markers for the International Beacon Project frequencies:
- 14.100 MHz
- 18.110 MHz
- 21.150 MHz
- 24.930 MHz
- 28.200 MHz
When the user clicks an IBP marker, QLog tunes the rig to that frequency and sets the mode to CW.
IBP markers can be enabled or disabled via the context menu (Show IBP Frequencies).
Emergency Frequencies
When the current band contains an internationally recognized emergency frequency, QLog marks it with a red horizontal line and a red SOS label.
The following emergency frequencies are marked: 3.760 MHz, 7.110 MHz, 14.300 MHz, 18.160 MHz, 21.360 MHz, 145.550 MHz, 433.550 MHz
When the user clicks an SOS marker, QLog tunes the rig to that frequency and sets the correct mode. USB and LSB emergency frequencies are set as SSB with the correct submode.
Emergency frequency markers can be enabled/disabled via the context menu (Show Emergency Frequencies).
| Context Menu Field | Description |
|---|---|

| Center RX | Keeps the Bandmap centered on the RX frequency. |
| Show Emergency Frequencies | Shows or hides emergency frequency SOS markers. |
| Show IBP Frequencies | Shows or hides International Beacon Project IBP markers. |
| Show Guide | Selects a Bandmap Guide profile or turns the guide off. |
