Installation Guide - flight505/ContextCraft GitHub Wiki
ContextCraft is available for both macOS and Windows platforms. Follow the instructions below for your specific operating system to get started.
There are two methods to install ContextCraft on macOS:
- Download the latest
.dmg
file from the Releases page. - Double-click the downloaded
.dmg
file to mount the disk image. - Drag the ContextCraft application to your Applications folder.
- When first launching the app, you may encounter a security warning since ContextCraft is not signed with an Apple Developer Certificate.
To resolve this security warning:
- Right-click (or Control-click) ContextCraft in the Applications folder
- Select "Open" from the context menu
- Click "Open" in the security dialog that appears
- You only need to perform this step once; subsequent launches will work normally
Alternatively, you can:
- Open System Settings
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Scroll down to the "Security" section
- Click "Open Anyway" next to the message about ContextCraft
If you encounter issues with the DMG method:
- Download the latest
ContextCraft-[version]-arm64-mac.zip
from the Releases page. - Double-click to extract the ZIP file.
- Drag the extracted ContextCraft app to your Applications folder.
- Follow the same security bypass steps as with the DMG version.
Apple requires apps to be signed with an Apple Developer Certificate ($99/year) and notarized for best security. ContextCraft is distributed without this certification to keep it free and open source. The app is still safe to use; you're simply bypassing Apple's verification system.
