SmartSDR-Win Alpha Testing

Nomenclature:

  • Zoom – changing the bandwidth of the Panadapter. Zoom out=greater frequency spread; Zoom in=narrower frequency spread.
  • Slice-Zoom – combines a Panadapter Zoom In or Zoom Out with a slice being the center zoom point
  • Pan – Changing the relative frequency of the Panadapter.
  • Tuning Mode – These are defined modes of control behavior of the Panadapter as a slice is being tuned. They are user selectable from the Panadapter
  • Focus – the slice that is being controlled by the tuning device (previously called the active slice).
  • Positive Control – User must initiate an action to enable/disable a particular control
  • FC – FlexControl
  • HID – Human Interface Device – A mouse or FC
  • CP – Control Panel

16-Jan-2013 (0.5.0): Feature that Work:

Panadapter Actions:

  • Create Initial Panadapter with one Slice with program invocation
  • Left click / Drag Panadapter
  • Slice off screen indicator / double click to bring into focus
  • ZOOM IN: Left click on horizontal frequency labels and drag to the right
  • ZOOM OUT: Left click on horizontal frequency labels and drag to the left
  • ZOOM IN with Slice Staying Centered: Left click on horizontal frequency labels under Slice and drag to the right
  • ZOOM OUT with Slice Staying Centered: Left click on horizontal frequency labels under Slice and drag to the left
  • Double click on Slice Off Screen Indicator to pan the Panadapter to slice location

Slice Actions:

  • Slice Drag Tuning: Display finger icon in RX filter/Left click/Drag Slice
  • Fine Slice Tuning: Place cursor in slice RX filter area and use scroll wheel to tune (tune step fixed @ 10 Hz)
  • Tuning via Direct Keyboard Entry: Left click in Slice frequency display to highlight / enter frequency via keyboard to change frequency of the slice (example: 14 = 14 MHz , 14.3 = 14.200 MHz, 14200 = 14.200 MHz, 7245 = 7.245 MHz)
  • Change Filter Bandwidth: Position mouse cursor on filter shirt edge until cursor changes, click and drag filter skirt edges to adjust (like pSDR)
  • ''''''Slice CP->Speaker Icon (audio controls): Audio gain slider control
  • **Slice CP->Slice Indicator:**clicking on the slice designator indicator will minimize the slice CP. Clicking on it again will make it reappear

Panadapter Control Panel Actions:

Panadapter->ANT: RF Gain (preamp) works. (far left= -10dB, 1st detent=0dB, in-between detents=10dB, 2nd detent=20dB, far right=30dB)
