3. Universal Authentication - feathers-nuxt/template-app GitHub Wiki

feathers-nuxt includes Local (username/password) authentication out of the box. It setup an /authentication endpoint to create JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for use as access tokens.

Authentication requests are initiated on the client using @feathersjs/authentication-client and fulfilled at the server using @feathersjs/authentication both already correctly set up.

The methods app.api.signup, app.api.signin and app.api.signout are availed to every client side file for invoking the respective authentication requests. Upon successful authentication, the issued JWT is persisted in the configured backing storage mechanism - window.localStorage by default - and maybe retrieved and verified by invoking the relevant methods ons app.api.passport of the user.
