Questions

• I have a question regarding the data that was given and the accompanying article. The article specified: Figure 2 shows that the laughter occurrences in the corpus are 1805 for a total duration of 1,114.8 s. When I first ran the laughter occurrences count, I got a figure that was below the 1805 count since I was counting for each event. When I ran the numbers to include counting twice the laugher events if both participants laughed, I ended with 1805. However, the total duration I have only seems to be for the total time of each event, regardless if both participants laughed or not.

• Continue to analyse data further. Breakdown by gender, caller/receiver etc.
• Can ignore the specific topics of the data. e.g.: Other, axe etc.
• Going to split the people into groups, then you can see longer laughter in one group, or less. etc.
