Buildings

This page provides information about the different buildings in CivIdleCli, their costs, effects, and strategic importance.

Available Buildings

CivIdleCli features the following buildings:

Building Primary Purpose Resource Production Other Effects
Hut Population None +2 villager capacity per hut
Farm Food 2 food per farm +5% food gathering for villagers
Lumber Mill Wood 2 wood per lumber mill +10% wood gathering for villagers
Mine Stone & Gold 1 stone and 0.2 gold per mine +5% stone and gold gathering for villagers
Market Gold 0.5 gold per market +10% gold gathering for villagers
Library Knowledge 0.5 knowledge per library +15% knowledge gathering for scholars, +2% for villagers

Building Costs

Building Cost
Hut 20 wood
Farm 100 wood, 50 stone, 100 food
Lumber Mill 100 wood, 300 stone
Mine 100 wood, 400 stone
Market 200 wood, 200 stone, 100 gold
Library 400 wood, 200 stone, 100 knowledge

Building Effects

Direct Resource Production

Buildings directly produce resources each tick, independent of villager assignments:

  • Farms: Generate 2 food per farm
  • Lumber Mills: Generate 2 wood per lumber mill
  • Mines: Generate 1 stone and 0.2 gold per mine
  • Markets: Generate 0.5 gold per market
  • Libraries: Generate 0.5 knowledge per library

Villager Capacity

  • Huts: Each hut increases your villager capacity by 2

Collection Rate Bonuses

Buildings also provide bonuses to villager resource collection rates. See the Building Bonuses page for detailed information.

Building Command

To build a structure, use the build command:

build <building>

For example:

  • build farm
  • build lumber_mill

You can check available buildings and their costs with the buildings command.

Building Strategy

Early Game (Stone Age)

  1. First Priority: Build 1-2 huts to increase your population capacity
  2. Second Priority: Build a farm to establish food production
  3. Third Priority: Build a lumber mill to boost wood production

Mid Game (Bronze Age)

  1. Focus on a balanced mix of all resource-producing buildings
  2. Build mines for stone and gold
  3. Build markets to boost gold income
  4. Build libraries to accelerate knowledge gathering

Late Game (Iron Age and beyond)

  1. Scale up all buildings based on your needs
  2. Focus on libraries to boost research speed
  3. Maintain balanced resource production

Tips for Efficient Building

  1. Plan Ahead: Check building costs before committing to construction
  2. Resource Balance: Build resource-producing buildings in proportion to your needs
  3. Population Management: Build huts in advance of recruiting new villagers
  4. Synergy: Take advantage of building bonuses that complement your villager assignments
  5. Scaling: Build multiple copies of the same building to scale production
