Masteries are Passive Abilities acquired at specified levels. Each one has a Source Art and a Target Art. Generally speaking they add some characteristics associated with the Source Art to abilities in the Target Art, or in cases where the Source Art is the same as the Target Art, they allow a character to "double down" on the characteristics of that Art. In most (though not all) cases, Masteries for which the Source and Target art share a Primary Attribute provide an offensive benefit, whereas those for which the Source and Art share a Main Defense (see Arts and Archetypes) provide a defensive benefit. Masteries involving a single Art can be offensive, defensive, or a mix, depending on the prototypical playstyle of that Art.

Select a Mastery requires a Training Level of at least 2 in both the Source and Target Arts if they are different, or 4 if they are the same.

Masteries are grouped below by the Target Art. Ability names are of the form "Essence of X" where X indicates the Source Art.
