It’s my honor to introduce a delegation of Virginia Community College System Chancellor, including Dr. David Doré, along with outstanding students and leaders from Germanna Community College. These students exemplify the dedication, resilience, and ambition fostered by Virginia’s 23 community colleges as they prepare to contribute to our workforce and communities.

Germanna, one of Virginia’s largest community colleges, serves my district and recently opened a new site in Stafford County, doubling its nursing enrollment to 400 graduates annually. It now hosts the largest nursing program in Virginia’s public higher education system.

Germanna and Virginia’s Community Colleges are key to meeting our workforce needs. Through workforce development programs, short-term credentials, and partnerships with local employers, they fill critical skill gaps and strengthen Virginia’s economy. Germanna leads the state in FastForward credentials, with 80% of students staying in Virginia after graduation.

Together, Germanna and the Virginia Community College System are building a stronger Virginia—one degree, one certificate, and one successful student at a time.
