All samples were scanned for human reads which were removed. This was accomplished using the human genome hg19 with a mask on hi conserved sequences using bbmap. Please see the AMOR Coassembly Protocol for details on this.

It is planned to subsequently remove common human-associated or kit-associated microbial contaminants, though this is planned to be done after assembly.
