Brief description
The "Remote Video" media type is for adding remotely hosted videos to the site, from services such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc.
Detailed description
The "Remote Video" media type consists of videos that are available throughout the White Label site. All videos are linked to its original source by URL and will be "registered" on the site. This will ensure that the videos will be consistent across any pages that use them.
To add new "Remote Video" media:
- Go to Content → Media → Add Media → Remote Video
The Remote Video media has these fields:
- Name: Enter the media name.
- Video URL: The URL of the content to be embedded. The video service should provide a "share" URL which should be used here (or it can be extracted from the "embed" code snippet).
- Caption(optional)
- Transcript: A transcript is optional but highly recommended for video content
The Remote Video can be added to the content using the Component Media or embed the Media entity from the rich text editor.
