Compatibility - endorh/aerobatic-elytra GitHub Wiki

Aerobatic Elytra should be compatible with most other mods, as all the changes it introduces to the game are tied to its own item. In addition, Aerobatic Elytra supports special compatibility features with a few mods, which are described in this page.

JEI

Aerobatic Elytra will display all of its recipes on JEI.

Upgrade recipes can display their actual math expressions with syntax highlighting when hovering the arrows from the JEI interface.

When using the Uses and Recipes actions on an existing Aerobatic Elytra, recipes will display the result they'd have on that specific Elytra, allowing you to preview the result of applying a complex recipe on a given Elytra.

Curios

You can fly aerobatically if you equip an Aerobatic Elytra in a Curios slot, but only if Caelus is also loaded, which rewrites the hardcoded logic behind players being able to fly with elytra.

By default, an Aerobatic Elytra cannot be added to any Curios slot, but a bundled datapack is included to easily allow it to be worn on Curios' back slot. This datapack can easily be enabled in a server by an operator with the following commands:

/aerobaticelytra datapack install "Add aerobatic elytra to Curios back slot"
/datapack enable "file/aerobaticelytra - Add aerobatic elytra to Curios back slot"

[!NOTE] It's currently not possible to use Curios' cosmetic hide option to hide an Aerobatic Elytra worn on a Curios slot.

[!TIP] Also, maybe something happens if you manage to wear both an Aerobatic Elytra and a vanilla Elytra at the same time. This combined with Aerobatic Elytra Jetpack can be quite funny. (It's not a bug if I call it an easter egg)

Caelus

Caelus is required to be able to fly with Curios, but it's not required otherwise.

Colytra

If Colytra is installed, you'll also be able to combine a chestplate with an Aerobatic Elytra, allowing you to fly aerobatically.

[!IMPORTANT] This feature only works completely on Minecraft 1.16. On Minecraft 1.17+, wearing a Colytra with an attached Aerobatic Elytra will result in your player model wearing both vanilla elytra wings and Aerobatic Elytra wings, although you may consider this a feature if you want.

Distant Horizons

While Aerobatic Elytra doesn't add any special feature to be compatible with Distant Horizons, it is listed in this page because your flight experience will be significantly better if you use Distant Horizons. Seriously, give this amazing mod a try. Unfortunately, it's not compatible with shaders, but you may start wanting to reconsider using shaders after trying it.
