Needed to connect the 8020 to the computer (or mobile device)
8020 -> RJ45 -> DB9 -> USB -> computer
(8020 -> ethernet cable -> rj45-db9 adapter -> db9-usb adapter -> computer)
Some (tool-less) assembly required. 3 parts
- Ethernet cable
- RJ45 -> DB9 modular adapter
- DB9 -> USB adapter (choose the appropriate option for your computer)

8020 -> RJ45 -> USB -> computer
(8020 -> modified rj45-usb adapter -> computer)
Use a modified RJ45 serial to USB cable to directly connect the 8020 to the computer. Modification requires a crimp tool and a passthrough connector. Reorder the wires so the resulting order is 1-4-2-3-5-6-7-8 (Move 4 to 2's position and shift everything toward the center. 1,5-8 remain unchanged. 1 is CTS). See this diagram
