Bitrex test materials
Make your own kit. Minimum items are
- Bitrex (or saccharin)
- testing solution
- sensitivity solution (can be made by diluting the testing solution)
- a nebulizer or equivalent
- some sort of hood
Bitrex (~$30)
From https://www.osha.gov/laws-regs/regulations/standardnumber/1910/1910.134AppA it appears that the sensitivity solution is about 8% the concentration of the test solution. So 1 part test solution to 11.5 parts 5% saline (or distilled water) should produce the sensitivity solution.

Nebulizer (~$12)
A nebulizer replacement kit contains the medicine cup. That's the part that will aerosolize the bitrex. A hand pump can supply the air in a controlled fashion.
An ultrasonic humidifier might work, but it might also break down the bitrex. A mister or perfume atomizer might work, but it might produce particles that are too large.

The bulb pump fits on the other end of the long tube in the replacement kit. Turn the knob so airflow goes in one direction: in the direction of the tube. This will prevent the bulb from sucking bitrex out of the medicine cup into the tube.
Some sort of hood
Goes over your head. Restricts where the bitrex fog can go so it doesn't get too diluted. Nice to have a window to look out of, especially if self-administering.
