Check past action items

  • Previous meeting notes: https://github.com/elisa-tech/wg-systems/wiki/Nov-25,-2024-%E2%80%90-16:00-UTC
  • AI-Sebastian: Involvement of DIN can also be interesting. Sebastian will take a first contact.
    • Communication started. Another meeting scheduled in Feb.
  • AI-Philipp: Invite the epam people to tell a bit about their work and planned activities (specifically Pi5).
    • No feedback from epam so far. Need to follow up.
    • Will check, if someone from epam at FOSDEM (no speaker seen)
  • AI-Philipp: Reach out to Thomas M. and Andreas B. for enabling Pi5 with Xen and Zephyr
    • No chance by Andreas B. to contribute currently.
  • AI-Philipp: Response to new Railway WG idea from Sebastian.
    • Mail dropped to interested participants. Invited to TSC.
    • Create a meeting poll.
    • Sebastian created a first draft, but someone from railway should propose it.
    • Some may attend TSC on Wednesday.

Standards Atlas

  • Next Deep-dive session to be scheduled
  • Take it like last time. Sebastian proposes 4 slots. Philipp will use them to create a nuudel.

Reference Hardware considerations

  • Discussion with ZAL last week.
    • Options they propose where i.mx95 SMARC modules
    • pointing to 3 potential vendor for "community friendly" hardware
    • ZAL offered to lend one hardware in case we want to experiment.
    • i.mx95 has a good support for xen when building with yocto-full version.
    • microchip also has a potential hardware based on RISC-V supporting Xen
  • Dropped a mail to microchip representative (as they have been in some meetings recently)
    • Question internally forwarded to microchip.
  • Gen5 of R-Car as a central HPC ECU could be an option
    • not available to wider community
    • more expensive
    • decent features
    • unclear which GPU vendor is used.
  • For Nvidia xen couldn't be used in the past and KVM was the option judges as slightly less safe and secure.
  • native ARM-qemu also still in discussion.

Good Quality Practices in Open Source [cont.]

AoB

  • Philipp-AI: Add architecture picture to Systems-WG repo for better clarity.
