Topics & Notes
Check past action items
- Action items in github issues
- AI: EMQ SDV WG ideas to be added to one of next TSC meeting agenda
- Continue discussion, already involvement in AGL SDV activities by EMQ.
- Chat also with Walt about it.
Next ELISA Workshop Timing & Location
- EMQ proposes a workshop in Hong Kong.
- Series of events in Asia. So traveling could be adjusted.
- OSS Korea beginning of November. https://events.linuxfoundation.org/open-source-summit-korea/
- Robotics conference ROScon in Singapore 27-29 Oct. before OSS Korea
- Last week of October, first week of November
- Some desire to do something in Korea.
- Doing 1/2 day meetup at Korean University with focus on SGL before OSS Korea.
- Consider also add-on event at OSS Korea. (Min will check.)
- Before or after 4-5 November.
- Nvidia offered to host at West Coast US.
- Just need to get the dates.
- Easier for people from Asia to get to SFO with a direct flight.
- In case workshop in US, we should consider an add-on event in Asia (Hong Kong/Korea/Japan).
- OSS JP + LPC in December from 08-13 Dec. -> Most likely no side event as already present in both events.
- Create a poll preferred
- Beginning of October in SFO bay area hosted by Nvidia (2 days in week 6-9th October )
- Beginning of November Hong Kong hosted at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) after OSS Korea (4-5) with a wished focus on Automotive by EMQ (6-7 November).
AGL SDV EG collaboration - How to continue? (Lund Follow up)
- Triggered during Lund WS, Kusakabe-san (Honda) requested a follow up.
- Pre-discussion included Kusakabe-san and Gab, who both couldn't attend TSC May 27th.
- Will discuss this in person at OSS NA. Setup an adhoc meeting. -> Philipp to drop a mail and coordinate (Tuesday?).
- Continue topic in next TSC meeting on June 25th
Any messaging system to extend the mailing list (like Discord/Matrix/Slack/Element) wished or needed
- LFSCS has more active exchange from the working group. Instant Messaging would be nice for these discussions.
- Quick communication channel.
- Aerospace was also asking for this. If Matt remembers correctly Stoke offered to provide a slack channel.
- If ELISA considers a tool, it has to go through LF IT.
- Question on instant messenger came up also during workshops in the past.
- LF Edge was also having a slack channel, which went into silence after a time.
- You need to maintain it there and also inform about events,
- In the free version of slack you will lose history over time.
- Discord worked well for Zephyr. Also KernelCI uses it.
- Matrix chatroom for BASIL. It is also used for Linux Plumbers. -> Matrix used via Element mobile app.
- Free and public chat room.
- Do we need to limit access? -> Not strictly required for LFSCS. Only in case SPAM occurs.
- LF IT provides options for
- Discord
- Fee tbd.
- Slack
- Major disadvantage: loose history in free version (paid version based on description)
- Free version is not an option due to loosing history.
- Discourse <- out
- (Matrix may not be supported. Plumbers channel comes from community)
- Discord
- Min to have a look what it means to use Discord for ELISA and have it as a topic for the next Governing Board meeting (as costs are involved)
Present work from EMQ about SDV (and safety) experience
- May be submitted to OSS Korea (Safety Critical Track) and OSS Japan (Automotive Track)
Short status from WGs
Up to 3 bullet points
- Aerospace/Space
- Automotive
- Medical (looking for new use case)
- Arch
- Linux Features
- OSEP
- Tools
- Systems
- Lighthouse-oss repo has first PR
- Now closing survey and align on first meeting
- Will present best practices standard idea at OSS NA. (Waitlisted for OSS EU)
AoB
- Need to consider summer time plans (TSC chair on leave from July 1st to August 10th)
