Clerk Tools Settings - elanthia-online/dr-scripts GitHub Wiki

Description

Gets your crafting tools from a crafting society's clerk, or stores them there. It walks to the society's repair room in your crafting town and asks for, or hands over, each tool in the set.

It handles each crafting discipline's tools, plus custom sets you define. Some scripts use it themselves: arrows and bolts fetch their tools with it and store them afterwards, and create_remedies does with its tools option.

Which tools

Each toolset reads its tools from a setting and puts them on that discipline's belt:

Toolset Tools setting Older shared setting it also accepts Belt
blacksmithing, weaponsmithing, armorsmithing blacksmithing_tools, weaponsmithing_tools, armorsmithing_tools forging_tools forging_belt
tailoring tailoring_tools outfitting_tools outfitting_belt
shaping shaping_tools engineering_tools engineering_belt
carving carving_tools carving_belt, else engineering_belt
tinkering tinkering_tools tinkering_belt, else engineering_belt
remedies remedies_tools alchemy_tools alchemy_belt
artificing artificing_tools enchanting_tools enchanting_belt

The older names still work as toolsets too: forging (blacksmithing), outfitting (tailoring), engineering (shaping), alchemy (remedies) and enchanting (artificing).

Whichever name you type decides which setting it reads first: a discipline name such as tailoring reads tailoring_tools first, and an older name such as outfitting reads outfitting_tools first. If that one isn't set, it uses the other. If neither is set, it stops and tells you which setting to add.

Tinkering tools are kept by the Engineering society's clerk, the same one as for shaping.

Custom toolsets

custom_clerk_tools:
  mining:
    :area: blacksmithing
    :tool_list:
      - slender pickaxe
      - tapered shovel

Each custom set has a name, the society to use (:area:, for example blacksmithing, tailoring, shaping or remedies), and its :tool_list:. Use it with custom=<name>; the name must be one word. Custom sets don't use a belt.

If a society lets you keep all your tools with it, you could make one set of everything, to pick up before running a repair and drop off afterwards.

Other settings

hometown: Crossing
force_crafting_town:
crafting_container: backpack
crafting_items_in_container:
Setting Default Purpose
force_crafting_town Use this town's clerks instead of your hometown's.
crafting_container backpack Where tools go when they aren't on a belt.
crafting_items_in_container Items to take only from crafting_container.

How it works

There are no settings for these; this is what to expect.

  • Getting tools. It asks the clerk for each tool and puts it on your belt or in crafting_container. A tool the clerk doesn't have is skipped. If the clerk has several tools matching a name, it's left to you to sort out.
  • Storing tools. It takes each tool off your belt or out of crafting_container and puts it on the counter. If your storage is full, the tool goes back where it came from.
