advanced crafting - einsteinsci/betterbeginnings GitHub Wiki
Advanced crafting is a very large part of the BetterBeginnings mod. When you put two crafting tables down next to each other, they form together to create a double workbench. This double workbench has four additional slots on the side to hold 'catalyst' ingredients. Most crafting recipes from vanilla now require additional catalyst ingredients, such as iron nuggets as rivets, leather strips to bind things, wool to pad armor, and redstone and blaze powder to harden diamonds. If you try to craft an item that requires advanced crafting on a regular workbench, a big red 'X' will appear over the arrow to indicate this.
##GUI
This is an example of advanced crafting in action, for a diamond chestplate. It requires 4 redstone, 6 blaze powder, 2 leather strips, and 4 wool of any color. As you can see, the redstone and wool are already put in. Once the blaze powder and leather strips are supplied, the player can get their diamond chestplate.
##Compatibility Advanced crafting recipes show up in NEI/JEI. For full details on how to craft something, hit R over the item in NEI/JEI.
##Notes Crafting tables in the BetterBeginnings mod are actually not the same as crafting tables in vanilla, despite having the same recipe. The slightly lighter (better) borders indicate this. If you have leftover vanilla crafting tables in your world, crafting them side by side will turn them into BetterBeginnings crafting tables. Conversely, if you have mods that use a crafting table as an ingredient, you can craft BetterBeginnings crafting tables into vanilla ones in a 1-to-1 recipe.
