Bone shards are an ingredient used in crafting a [bone pickaxe]]. They are made by cutting a bone with a [knife. Bone shards also drop from ocelots and chickens in peaceful mode. Bone shards can be crafted into bonemeal, at two bonemeal per shard. This is a higher output per bone than simply crafting bones into bonemeal, though it uses up durability on the player's knife.
