# Device Layer Troubleshooting

## Symptoms
- Phone won't register
- Drops calls or reboots
- No audio or wrong behavior

## Checklist
- Firmware up to date
- SIP server, port, user/pass correct
- Match codecs (G711, G729, etc.)
- Set correct time zone and NTP
- Use STUN if behind NAT
- Reboot or reset and re-provision
- Banned in Intrusion Detection?
- No handset audio -- is the curly cord plugged into the correct jack on the phone?
