The Backgrounds tool

This tool allow you to select the background for the scene. In the settings fields you can configure the currently selected background. The buttons to the right of it let you select the background.

Settings

Settings are shared between backgrounds.

Flipped

If this is checked the background will be flipped horizontally.

Scaling

Allows you to direct DDDG how to scale the image, if the size doesn't fit. If the image is exatly 1280x720, none of these do anything

• None: Leaves the image at its native size, and display it centered on screen.
• Stretch: Scales the image to exactly 1280x720. This will distort backgrounds with a different aspect ratio
• Cover: Scales the image to be at least 1280x720. This preserves the original aspect ratio, but will show less of the image

Variant

Some backgrounds (mostly the CGs) have multiple variants. With the "<" buttons ">", you can switch between them.

Color

This option is only shown when the "Static color" background was chosen. Click on the button to open the Color tool. The chosen color will be used as the background.

Transparency

Transparency in backgrounds is represented by a checkerboard pattern in the preview. This will not be present in final download!

Upload

Opens a file picker dialog to select one or more backgrounds to add from your local storage.

Add by URL

This opens a dialog where you can enter the URL of a file hosted somewhere online to use as a background.

NOTE: This requires the "access-control-allow-origin" setting of the server to allow the generator to use them. Some hosting services might have a problem with that, but sites like imgur.com are working fine.

Search in content packs

Opens the Content Pack list with all available background content packs.
