Serves one for a couple meals. Or a couple people for one meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 lb beef (brisket, chuck roast, whatever's cheap.)
  • 2 T oil

  • 3-4 chilis in adobo (Note to self: where the heck do you find this in Canada?)
  • 4 t minced garlic
  • 3/2 T ground cumin
  • 1 T dry oregano
  • 3/4 t salt (or more, to taste)
  • 1/2 t black pepper, ground
  • 1/4 t cloves, ground
  • 1/4 c fresh lime juice.

  • 5/4 cups broth (preferably beef, but whatever works)

Steps

  1. Cube the beef.
  2. Sautee and brown the beef with the oil.
  3. Using a food processor or mortar/pestle, grind the other ingredients together. Pour on top of meat.
  4. Add broth (about 1/2 way up the meat)
  5. LOW for 8-9 hours. Shred the meat with forks, serve on rice (?).
