Release Process - eclipse-dirigible/dirigible GitHub Wiki

Prerequisite

Note: Send notification in the Slack eclipse-dirigible workspace, that release is going to be scheduled.

Release X.Y.Z is being scheduled for today.
Please let us know, if there are any pending changes, that needs to be included in this release.

Release

  1. Check the Build GitHub action status.

  2. Go to the Release GitHub action and fill the form Run workflow.

  3. Wait for the release action to complete.

    Usually it takes around an hour! To check the release action progress, go here.

  4. Check the latest release:

    Go to: https://github.com/eclipse/dirigible/releases

  5. Check if a release branch was created from here.

    If there is no release branch created automatically, create one manually - e.g. 5.4.0

  6. Close and Release the uploaded content to Maven Central:

    Login to: https://oss.sonatype.org/#stagingRepositories

    • Close
    • Release

  7. Validate Trial:

    Go to: http://trial.dirigible.io and check the version from the About view.

Post Release Actions

  2. Notify community via e-mail

    Send e-mail to [email protected] by template:

    Release: <release version, e.g. 7.0.0>

The major/minor/micro version <release version, e.g. 7.0.0> has been released [1] as Type A, ready for download [2] and as Maven dependences [3].

The branch 'master' has been set to <next release version, e.g. 8.0.0>-SNAPSHOT for development.
