This page outlines information relevant to the unfortunate event of Earth Lab gear or equipment being stolen.

Actions to take

  • Contact SEEC Building Management (if the theft occurred in SEEC): Garrett Palmer ([email protected]) & Michael Butryn ([email protected])
  • File a police report with the CU Boulder Police department (call them at 303-492-6666). They will provide a case number for the incident.
  • Contact CIRES Property Management: Lin Yang, [email protected]. Property management will fill our a property loss report form / risk management claim. Necessary information about lost equipment/gear is: Date/Time of Occurrence; Location of Loss; Type of Loss; Description of Occurrence; Cause of Damage; If item was stolen, was a police report filed?; Property tag# information
  • Once the property report form is submitted, CIRES Property Management will be contacted by a Property and Casualty Claims Adjuster who will request a replacement quote for the lost items.
  • CU Risk Management (once they've reached back out) will require a copy of the police report in addition to the replacement estimates. CUPD police reports can be requested on the online portal.
