Scorpion Engine offers a free edition that only has one restriction - the free edition splash screen must be displayed.
Additional options are available on the patreon.
- The supporter edition key adds the supporter edition splash screen, in addition you’ve got access to resources on the Patreon (such as the “goodie bag”) that are unavailable to the general public.
- The gold edition key adds the gold edition splash screen. In addition, you’ve got access to further perks on Patreon, such as the ability to vote on feature development.
- Finally, the ultimate edition key adds the ultimate edition splash screen, as well as the ability to substitute that splash screen for your own one.
In terms of releasing commercial games made with the engine - while contributions back to the Scorpion project are voluntary, this is what I recommend.
All self published games with a small run (of say, less than 50 copies) should use at least the gold edition key. All self published games with a larger run (of say, more than 50 copies) should use the ultimate edition key.
It’s recommended that publishers have an agreement with the Scorpion Engine project directly.
