Software Craftsmanship 2012 (SC2012) is the fourth international conference for software craftsmen. This years theme is Computer Science for Software Craftsman, in celebration of the work of computer pioneer Alan Turing.

Prerequisites

There are two rules to keep in mind in able to be eligible as an entry for the conference

  1. Live coding with audience participation
  2. It must feature a famous algorithm

Proposals should include the following data.

  1. The proposed session length (30 or 60 mins)
  2. Details of the algorithm featured
  3. A rough outline of how the session will work and what it will require technically (from participants and from the organisers and venue)
  4. Code!

Background

Alan Turing

Alan Turing was an English mathematician. His seminal paper "On Computable Numbers, with an Application to the Entscheidungsproblem" introduced Turing machines , an abstract machine capable of performing computations.

During the Second World War he was at Bletchley Park and played a pivotal role in breaking the Enigma.

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park is an estate in Bletchley England which house the National Codes Centre and the National Museum for Computing.

During the Second World war it was the center of the United Kingdom's decryption establishment.
