We worked with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) to study the relationship between alley and street light outages and crime in Chicago. We are also examining if there are certain areas of Chicago where the relationship may be particularly strong.

The analysis will be useful to CDOT in determining whether fixing outages more quickly would result in crime reductions and if there are any geographic areas for which reducing outage durations should be given priority.
