Information about the app and the most current FAQs are available in the Easy3DScore Wiki.

How to start an event?

  • go to the start screen
  • tap on 'New Event', the screen for event configuration is shown

Event Extended Settings

Extended settings allow to configure certain aspects of app behavior. Change extended settings on the 'New Event' screen. Tap on the pencil icon to open the Extended Settings screen. Make you changes, then tap 'Save'. Settings are persistent.

The following extended settings are available
  • Accelerated Scoring
  • Automatic target switch

Hint: You can change settings during an event, except for Voice announcements, which must be activated before event begins. To change settings while event is in progress, tap on the gearwheel icon show at the bottom of the target scoring screen.

Accelerated Scoring

Option affects scoring systems w/ multiple arrows per target/end only.
If enabled, open scores are automatically scored as 'miss'. Option can help minimize no. of taps required to complete scoring, but also disables score completeness checks. Warnings for missing scores are disabled (because these are considered 'miss').
Please note that you still need to score at least one arrow per target/end. Default for this setting is 'off'.

Automatic target switch

Setting changes app behaviour when scoring of current target is completed, i.e. scores for all archers have been set. If enabled, the app will automatically switch to next target when scoring is completed. You save one tap. The disadvantage is you cannot review scores before moving on. Default for this setting is 'off'.

Voice announcement

Setting enables voice announcement of scores.

Voice announcements must be activated before you start the event, but you can mute/unmute voice announcements at any time during the event. Tap on the gearwheel icon shown at bottom center of target scoring screen. Tap 'Mute voice announcements' to mute, tap again to unmute. Default for this setting is 'off'.

Important: Voice announcement requires 'Ring'/'Silent' switch on the iPhone set to 'Ring', i.e. read marker on the switch not visible. Check position of the switch and adjust audio volume settings. If switch position is 'Silent' and/or volume is too low you cannot hear voice announcements.

Show total score

Setting controls visibility of archer total scores on target scoring screen. Switch 'on' to display total scores in addition to target scores. Default for this setting is 'off'.

Show target distance

Setting controls visibility of target distance on target scoring screen. Switch 'on' to display target distance in addition to target description. In order to display target description and target distance, you must use a course which has both, target descriptions and target distances included. Target description, if available, is displayed automatically. Default for this setting is 'off'.

How do I track scores for a target?

Use Extended Setting (see below) 'Automatic target switch' if you want the app to automatically switch to next target when scoring is completed, i.e. score for all archers has been set.

How do I move to next/previous target?

You can move between targets at any time. This is useful to review/update scores of previous targets, to skip targets, or to start event at target other than target 1. When you take part in a 3D archery tournament, you usually do not start at target 1.

The default scoring system for new event can be changed in a similar manner.

Why using a course?

You do not need a course. You can start an event w/o a course.

A course contains additional useful information which is associated with an event if you select the course for an event. Some information is shown during the event, other information is used to create/improve statistics and is stored as part of event result in event history.

A course can include target information. Target information consists of a description (e.g. Grizzly), a distance and notes for every target. Target description is shown on the target scoring screen, distance and notes are only a tap away. Tap on 'Target #' to view/edit target information from the scoring screen. This allows to edit target information during an event (if a course was selected for the event). Target distance, if provided, is included in event statistics and used to create distance-based statistics.

Hint: Courses are not only useful for 3D archery, but are also useful when shooting targets. Create a course, add a target for every end, and include target distance information. Use the course for your indoor/outdoor target shots to get additional statistics by target distance.

See below for instructions how to capture target information.
