Guard Villagers
mod: Guard Villagers
This mod adds Guards, as well as new villager-related AI changes. In RAD2, guards can spawn as 6 different classes.
Additionally in RAD2 Guards will never drop equipment on death due to being enchanted with Curse of Vanishing. The only way to obtain a guard's items is by having the Hero of the Village effect, which allows you to access a guard's inventory.
-
Knight: Equipped with a one-handed weapon, Guard's Armor or Silver Armor and a shield, or sometimes some food. Deals bonus damage vs undead and illagers, and has minor fire protection.
-
Rogue: Wields Daggers or a Shortbow, and sometimes carries an ender pearl to teleport behind foes. Can be identified by the dark Thief's Armor. Has immunity to fall damage.
-
Archer: Uses a Longbow or Crossbow. Bow archers deal more damage while Crossbow guards slow down targets. Wears brown-hooded hunting gear and has minor protection against arrows.
-
Mage: Probably the easiest to spot among the guards, the mage wears blue robes and an enchanted book that can summon shulker bullets and evoker fangs. The mage supports other guards with effects like speed and strength. Takes reduced damage from magic.
-
Mercenary: The "tank" of the guard ranks, equipped with a Two-Handed or otherwise heavy weapon. These guards boast extra health and wear tough mercenary armor. Like the Knight these guards are more effective vs undead and illagers. When hurt a mercenary guard can heal other nearby guards for a portion of the damage taken. Mercenaries take reduced explosive damage.
-
Bomber: The rarest guard type, this guard is easily identifiable by the fact this guard carries TNT and bombs! These guards can throw specialized TNT that does not destroy blocks or hurt other guards. The Bomber like the Mercenary has resistance against explosive damage.
