RAD2 FAQ: Please Read these questions before asking anywhere else.

Q: How do I Salvage Items?

A: Shift-Right-Click a Smithing Table. There is also a quest that explains this in the features|mechanics tab, along with in the tooltip of any item you can salvage.

Q: How do I disenchant?

A: Use the tome of scrapping, the book of disenchanting, or the tome of hungering knowledge.

Q: Okay, and how do I use the book of disenchanting?

A: Right-click a player-placed grave with a grave's soul. A grave's soul is a floating purple orb that appears around these graves after a while. They can also spawn behind blacksmith structures (not the village ones).

Q: Why can't I apply X enchantment to an item?

A: If it is in your inventory hold Left Alt on the book to inspect all its enchantments. Press U on one of the enchantments to see what it can be applied to. The menu added by Unique Enchantments also shows what enchantments it is incompatible with. If it doesn't have any, its probably bugged or disabled so just grindstone it down into xp.

Note: Enchantments above the max level (through apotheosis, apex upgrading, ancient tomes, etc.) won't appear in jei recipe screen, but often still work.

Q: Why can't I get enchanted books from librarians?

A: They no longer sell them in this pack to encourage getting them from exploring. Seriously how is breaking and placing a lectern over and over fun smh

Q: How can I get mending then?

A: There are multiple different types of mending in this pack. Life mending and Ender mending for example. There are also many other enchantments that can repair your items like Warriors Grace, Ender Marksman and Reinforced. Look for items that have it when exploring, fishing, and slaying champions and use the various disenchanting methods from the "how do I disenchant" question above.

Additionally after unlocking the end one can more reliably obtain the various types of mending through the Better End Infusion Pedestal.

Q: How can I separate the enchantments on an enchanted book?

A: There are multiple ways this can be done:

-Enchanting an anvil with the Splitting enchantment will cause the enchanted book to separate into multiple books by placing the Splitting anvil above it to it falls on top of the book item. However the chance of success is only guaranteed at level 5, otherwise there is a chance the book will be destroyed.

-If all the enchants on the book can be applied to a single piece of equipment, you may then use the corail book of disenchantment above to separate the enchantments.

-Later on the enchantment library is the most efficient way to split enchantments. Simply add the book to the library then click only the enchantments you want.

Q: Is there any storage bigger than chests?

A: Backpacks can be used as chests since they are placeable. The storage mod will link to the backpacks just like chests.

Q: How do I get rid of the annoying bat following me? / How to get rid of constant bat sounds?

A: Take off your Spelunker Armor / Cave Crawler Armor. You will then have to kill the bat with indirect damage like lava. It won't respawn if you don't have the armor worn.

Q: How do I repair XY item?

A:

Side Note: Runic anvil will only repair relics if you have xp points (the green part of xp bar)

Q: How to repair Dungeons Gear Items?

A: By default every armor can be repaired using either string, iron ingots, or bones, or leather, or oak logs

-bone: bones

-cloth/robe: string

-heavy_plate: iron ingot

-hide: bones

-light_plate: iron ingot

-medium_plate: iron ingot

-pelt: leather

-wither_bone: bone (not wither bones)

-wood (beehive): oak log HAS TO BE OAK LOGS, no other wood type

Weapons: Wooden Planks

Artifacts: Bottle of enchanting

Bows and Crossbows cannot be repaired through materials. You have to use mending or another bow of the same type.

Q: I noticed you can apply Protection on every item, what does that do?

A: Protection on any item makes it take longer to despawn. This is part of the vanilla changes made by Unique Enchantments.

Q: What is the best Enchantment?

A: This is an extremely vague question that can depend on many various factors, like on a weapon what mobs you are fighting, or like on tools, if you want to silk touch blocks or not, and if the enchantments work well together. For example the enchantment Focus Impact increases damage the lower your weapon's attack speed is. This is great on axes but terrible on daggers.

Q: What is the best armor/weapon in the game?

A: It is best to use the armor that fits your needs the most. Armor is capped at 60, so try to get armor that grants special abilities rather than just focusing on stats alone. Weapons mainly rely on enchantments to deal their damage, so once again use a weapon with a secondary ability rather than just focusing on its attack damage.

Q: Best specialization to pick?

A: Try to pick the one that would best suit your playstyle and what pmmo stats you want to level up the most. If you really can't decide, Warrior is a good pick when starting out as it has the most simple yet effective kit. We try to make them as closely balanced as possible but if you find one to be a bit too weak compared to the rest you can discuss it in the dreams' modpacks discord in the r-a-d-2 channel, or suggest it in the issues section here on the GitHub.

Q: How do I pick up spawners?

A: You can't. Sorry. Spawners also disappear after 50 spawns, so spawners are temporary anyways.

Q: What do spirit orbs do?

A: They are used to upgrade the paraglider's stamina, and also craft Gate Pearls, which are used to open Gateways.

Q: Why is my health lower than before after I died?

A: This can happen for 5 different reasons:

1. You are wearing the broken heart/phylactery charm
2. You are wearing the Ring of the Seven Curses.
3. You have the berserker enchant on your chestplate while having 200+ exp levels.
4. You have the reckless enchant on your chestplate.
5. You had an item with death's odium (if playing an older version, it is disabled now)

Answer for 1: It slowly regenerates every minecraft morning. Sleep to get it back faster. Answer for 2: You will have to head back to your death spot and retrieve the soul crystal that dropped. Answer for 3: Simply store the exp until you are back down below level 200. Answer for 4: Remove the enchant from your chestplate/inventory. Answer for 5: You will have to eat a cookie enchanted with Death's odium. Must be a stack of at least 2 cookies to work.

Q: How can I mine multiple blocks in an area (like the Mattock's 3x3 mining in RAD 1)?

A: The Etherium Pickaxe, Axe & Shovel are endgame tools that can mine multiple blocks similar to the Mattock, you can also make an ars spell with the Break glyph and AOE glyph to mine a bigger area, the Astral Breaker can also mine a 3x3 area.

Q: Why do spawners look like this?

A: Spawners have a limit of spawning 50 mobs

Q: Why can I never find heart containers from paraglider statues?

A: Heart Containers are disabled in this pack. The advancement is still granted by having full stamina from statues.

Q: How do I pick up waystones?

A: Natural waystones can only be broken using the Pickarang, or the ars nouveau break spell. Originally intended to just be completely unbreakable, but now we regard it as a feature!

Q: What is the blue bar on the bottom left of my screen?

A: That's the soul bar, added by the Dungeons Gear mod. It is used by certain artifacts from the mod, and you can fill it up by defeating mobs while having items with the Soul Gathering attribute equipped.

Q: What are Trinkets?

A: Unlike Curios these use a special menu. They grant passive buffs to the player, and more slots can be unlocked with xp. The menu is opened with R by default but it conflicts with some other binds so you need to change it.

Q: What does the blue/grey feather icons mean?

A: It is the dodge meter. Pressing Left Alt and WSA or D causes the player to leap in that direction, gaining brief invulnerability during the dodge. Also a great mobility tool. Grey feathers are unusable and indicate armor weight. Stronger armor grants more gray feathers. The Lightweight enchantment reduces the gray feathers.

Q: There is an inventory on my screen! How do I get rid of it?

A: Press I to hide it.

5.

Q: How do I get rid of the cube next to my crosshair?

A: You enabled rotation lock. Press K to turn it back off. Rotation lock makes all the blocks you place face in the same direction.

Q: I accidentally removed the trashcan slot from my inventory! How do I get it back?

A: Press T while in the inventory to get it back.

7.

Q: I keep auto-jumping and can't turn Auto-jump off!

A: Press H to toggle between auto-jump, auto-step, and none.

8.

Q: Why can't I veinmine blocks?

A: Only ores and logs can be veinmined in this pack.

To excavate, hold Left Shift while breaking an ore or log while holding an item in your hand. This can be any item as long as its not an empty slot.

Q: How do I levelup karma?

A: The primary way is by defeating Bosses and breaking spawners. You can also get some by slaying mobs either of light or darkness.

Mobs of light include killing villager guards, pixies, the goblin trader and crafting straw effigies.

Some mobs of darkness include dread mobs, dragons, the wither, illagers, and bandits from atum, and the shade from greek fantasy to name a few.

Q: How can I level endurance faster?

A: Equip the most durable shield you are able to craft, and wear earplugs/gold armor to boost endurance xp gains. Then craft healing items like healing salves, plasters and bandages to safely gain endurance xp. There is a known bug where taking near-lethal damage saved by second chance with the old hurt sound will not give endurance xp.

Being in the nether or in a desert also lets you earn endurance faster.

Q: How do I level magic?

A: Mine magic crystals, use tattered tomes, defeat witches. You can also use a novice spellbook with harm from the start, which can then be used to unlock better glyphs. If you started with the Wizard specialization, the caster tome can be used from the start.

Q: How do I level Alchemy?

A: Brew Potions in a Brewing Stand or craft certain potion ingredients. Make sure the brewing stand was placed by you. If you find a naturally generating stand, break then place it back before using it.

Additionally, the Alchemist boss from the blue skies dimension grants alchemy xp.

5.

Q: How am I supposed to get obsidian if the diamond pickaxe's gathering requirement is so high?

A: Use the Lead Pickaxe first, which has a much lower Gathering requirement of 25. The Lead Pickaxe can mine and obtain obsidian, though is slightly slower than the diamond pickaxe.

Q: How do I level dragonslayer?

A: Kill the Ender Dragon or one of the Ice and Fire Dragons. Each awards 300 xp (actually 60 due to pmmo jank), increased when a dragon skull is in your offhand, you are using a dragon bone weapon, or using another item which boosts dragonslayer xp. Additionally the Komodo dragon gives 0.1 dragonslayer but this is more as a joke and is not a reliable way to get the xp.

Q: What is the max level for skills?

A: 200.

Q: Why can't I use boomerang/phantasmal blade / any other melee that throws projectiles despite having the requirements?

A: Pmmo considers any projectile to be Magic or Archery even if it came from a melee weapon. For the spartan weapons you can put them in the offhand and they will work. Otherwise you will have to level up your magic. This should be fixed for throwable spartan weapons, which only need combat now, and weapons that have a magic requirement.

Q: Why does my weapon sometimes say I don't meet the requirements even thought I have the correct combat/archery requirements?

A: This sometimes happens when you deal damage considered by pmmo to be magic while holding a melee weapon, for example from thorns damage. It does fix itself once your magic stat is high enough.

Q: Why don't I get Dragonslayer from slaying dragons in 1.16?

A: This happened due to an error while converting light/shadow xp to karma, specifically an extra comma was accidentally added after the elder guardian entry (after the next "dungeoneering") in xp_value_kill.json

Updating to 1.17 or later will fix this issue.

Q: What is Light Yagami/Shadow the Hedgehog pmmo stats?

A: These used to be the light/shadow stats. You will see this when updating from a version prior to 1.16, if you had any light or shadow xp. Since pmmo still keeps track of stats that were removed, it was suggested to rename the deprecated stats just for fun. You can't gain any more, and it is not required for anything. If something says it requires Light Yagami/Shadow the Hedgehog in multiplayer, please make sure the server you are playing on is not on an older version. If it still persists, it is a bug and you may report it in the Issues tab here.

Q: What is dungeoneering?

A: Old name for the Karma stat. Pmmo sometimes still uses this name when players reach certain xp milestones.

Q: How to get Dragon Eggs?

A: I assume you mean the Ice and Fire ones here, you have to kill and loot a tier 4/5 dragon that has no spots and more curvy horns.

2.

Q: Why can't I find any Ice and Fire dragons?

A: Dragons only spawn 1000 blocks away from the world center. Even then they are very rare.

Q: How do I loot a dead dragon?

A: Right-click with empty hand.

Q: Why do ghosts keep spawning near my house?

A: Graveyard Soil spawns ghosts at night. It is not related to the corail tombstone mod, so you can remove the blocks.

5.

Q: How do I fight the gorgon? I die in one hit!

A: Gorgon can only petrify you if you are looking at the gorgon. Wear a blindfold to stop the petrifying gaze, or as a more risky method, quickly hit and look back down before the gorgon finishes the attack animation. The former will cause the gorgon to use poisonous attacks instead, so watch out!

Q: Shooting ghosts crashes my game! How do I stop that from happening?

A: This happens when any arrow with Piercing (piercing enchantment, or archers paradox diamond arrow) hits an entity that is immune to projectile damage. This is a bug with 1.16 forge can't do anything about it other than just not using piercing vs an arrow-immune mob like ghosts.

Q: I can't build a nether portal! How do I get into the nether?

A: Find dimensional plasma. This is a purple fluid found near the bottom of the world surrounded by netherrack.

Q: How do I get out of the nether?

A: Find a reclaimer. It looks like a black beacon. Place gold blocks in the missing spots next to it and stand in the beacon to travel home.

3.

Q: Why can't I damage the Hydra in the Twilight Forest? / Why am I burning even though I killed the Minoshroom?

A: You need to eat the Meef Stroganoff to gain access to the hydra swamps.

There is also a known bug where multipart mobs (naga & hydra) sometimes can't be damaged by melee attacks. This seems to be an issue with certain forge versions. Shooting arrows or other projectiles will still hurt these bosses however.

Q: How do I get out of tropicraft?

A: Same way you got in, drinking a pina colada on a beach chair during a sunset. A beach chair can also be crafted entirely from bamboo in case you lack wool.

Q: What are all the new dimensions in this pack?

A: The new dimensions are: -atum (atum2 return to the sands) -everbright (blue skies) -everdawn (blue skies) -dungeon dimension (dimensional dungeons) -market place dimension (feywild) -dream dimension (good nights sleep) -nightmare dimension (good nights sleep) -mining dimension (mining dimension) -the bumblezone (the bumblezone) -tropics (tropicraft) -twilight forest (twilight forest) -undergarden (undergarden)

Q: Where is the dragon head & elytra located in the new end ship?

A: Dragon Head is at the top of the ship, near the gray glass roof.

Elytra is located at the bottom section of the ship.

7.

Q: I'm stuck in the mining dimension and lost my way in! How can I get out?

A: In the quest book (remember you can open the quests without actually needing the book), you will see a broken heart icon called "emergency items". Here you will be able to obtain a dimensional recall potion by waiting on the screen for 15 minutes. You can use this to get back.

Q: Why is spartan ice and fire not in the pack? It would fit perfectly in the pack!

A: The short answer: Lack of configurability, especially with disabling the lightning weapons from destroying drops.

The long answer: Ice and fire's lightning weapons (lightning dragon bone sword, lightning dragonsteel sword) lightning could damage the user as well as any loot dropped from defeated mobs, making those weapons less preferable to craft. This was configured to be turned off and replaced with the dungeons gear thundering enchantment, which does not harm the user or destroy drops. However Spartan Fire does not have its own config, and does not carry over ice and fire's configurations, meaning the lightning attacks cannot be turned off. Of course we could just disable the lightning weapons but then this will just bring up questions about why only the lightning items are disabled. We can't stop you from adding it to the pack yourself but we do not need more people complaining about the lightning weapons (or the lack thereof) if it was added officially.

Q: Can you add prefab?

A: This mod was in older versions of the pack, however it was removed due to an exploit with pmmo xp gains. Deployed structures would carve out terrain and give you xp for it.

Q: Add Simple Storage Network?

A: This mod was also in older versions of the pack. It was removed due to server performance issues especially with larger storage issues compared to Tom's simple storage.

Q: L_Ender's Cataclysm seems like a good idea, it's all about exploring new structures and finding unique loot!

A: Honestly, I'm not sure why this one's not in rad2. Likely the 1.16.5 version's too unfinished compared to its future iterations. It is in the sequel Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons modpacks, however.

Q: Add Create?

A: Will not be in any of dreams packs. Dreams just isn't a fan of it (neither am I, but at least its ignorable and not as intrusive as the alex mods)

Edit: It has arrived to my attention that the newer life in the village packs unfortunately do in fact have create. Dreams still likely won't add it as its already in those packs.

Q: Add Aether, Betweenlands, Electrobob's Wizardry, Thaumcraft, most of the other mods that were in the first Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons

A: Not available in the version Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons 2 is in, which is 1.16.5.

7.

Q: Add Minecolonies?

A: No. Play life in the village for that. Even if you like defending villages from dragons, you likely will still have better luck just putting ice and fire into life in the village 2 (it will still be a buggy mess) Also the starting craftable structures are quite overpowered for loot.

Q: Is there any official server?

A: No, Dreams does not have an official server for RAD2.

Q: Is there a server I can join then?

A: You can check in #server-adverts on the dreams' modpacks discord server, or on other minecraft server websites searching "RAD2" or "Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons 2". Note that RAD servers in general tend to not last very long. If none there are up to your liking, on the dreams' modpacks discord server, you may also direct message @recyclingtiger (if online with a green circle) about starting a server and I might play if I feel like it at the moment. Too shy and don't know what to say? Just type "RAD2 FAQ Multiplayer Question 2" and I'll know what you mean.

Q: How can I disable hurting other players on a LAN world?

A: First of all, this is automatically enabled in Hardcore Mode. If you are NOT playing hardcore, continue reading. You will need cheats enabled, then use these commands: /team add <Name> /team modify <Name> friendlyFire false /team join <Name> <playername> (you may use @a instead of the player's name to have everyone currently online join your team.)

Q: How can I claim chunks?

A: Craft the Chunk Claim Block. It will protect the chunk it is placed in from ars spells, frost arrows, regular breaking, placing, creepers, and all other explosions. Right-Clicking on the block will let you add other players' names that you allow in your claim. To see chunks press F3+G, or Fn+F3+G on some laptops. You can only have up to 6 claims active at a time.

Note: This block is NOT a chunkloader! See the "How do I forceload chunks" question below in Other Questions.

5.

Q: Why do I (or another player on my server) crash when trying to open the money shop in the quest book?

A: Make sure online-mode on the server is set to true. The crash can happen to any player on a offline-mode server, even if the affected player is using an official minecraft account. This is due to uuid checks on the player's money balance, which is not possible on offline mode servers.

Q: How do you tame the Pegasus?

A: With a golden bridle. Looks like a lead but golden colored.

Q: Why can't I put potions in the brewing stand?

A: You can only place them in one at a time. Unstack the potions first.

3.

Q: How can I move villagers (or most passive creatures)?

A: There are multiple ways to move other creatures in this pack:

1. The Chain Line from Ice and Fire can be used as a stronger lead that can carry almost anything, including villagers.
2. The Extradimensional Eye is a single-use item that can teleport a mob to a specified location.
3. The Ender Bow from Twilight Forest swaps you and the target's location. With Training Arrows it deals no damage but still teleports.
4. The Enderite Pearl is a reusable mob teleporter. After crafting it only costs 1 ender pearl per usage. Left-click to select a mob, Right-click to throw an ender pearl that teleports the mob instead of you. The Enderite Pearl deals no damage on both left and right-clicks.
5. Warp Plates can be bought in the shop, which can teleport both you and other mobs to another plate. Inside every warp plate is a shard which you can take to another warp plate to connect.

Q: Can I change my specialization?

A: NO. But you can get a second specialization by completing the prestige quest after obtaining an ender dragon egg. You do not lose the dragon egg, but can only complete the prestige once.

5.

Q: How do I forceload chunks?

A: For no cheats enabled: An entity entering an undergarden portal will trigger a temporary forceload in the chunks the portal is in, both overworld and undergarden. A railway contraption that repeatedly moves a minecart back and forth through the portal will keep it constantly loaded.

For cheats enabled: Much simpler, use the /forceload command. For example, /forceload add ~ ~ ~ ~ will load the chunk you are standing in. Replace add with remove to stop forceloading, remove all to remove all your forceloaded chunks, query to see your loaded chunks.

Q: Why haven't I seen any buddycard packs spawn in dwarf blacksmith chests anymore?

A: In 1.14 this was a bug with the Platform mod. Make sure your modpack version is updated above that version. Also make sure that when updating, especially through the curseforge launcher that the Platform 1.2.0 jar file wasn't left behind. If you see two platform java files, delete the 1.2.0 version.
