Introduction
DOSBox forks are sorted into four categories:
- Active - the project had commit activity in the past 12 months
- Dormant - the project had no commit activity for 1 to 2 years
- Dead - the project had no commit activity for over 2 years

- dosbox-patched - PPA + many patches
- vDos - versions prior to 2015.11.01 available to download; base source code for newer versions available after making a small donation while some code becomes closed-source with nag screens in networked environments unless registered
- DOSVAX - Japanese AX emulation
- DOSVAXJ3 - More Japanese systems
- jDosbox GitHub - Rewrite in Java

- DebugDOSBox - build that replaces the debugger UI using the ImGui framework and gl3w.
- Ldosbox for Android - Android Port - it was updated in 2020, but the author said he probably won't work it further.
