Controls - dortamur/satisfactory-uevr-enhancements GitHub Wiki

Overview

The left controller is focussed on movement, and most movement controls are handled by this controller.

The right controller is focussed on interactions, including weapon aiming & firing, build aiming and adjustments (including nudging), and menu selection.

The controller face buttons are configured as short-cuts for actions also available in the wrist panels.

Wrist Panel Controls

Each controller has a wrist panel with information and additional actions. Rotate your wrist (like looking at a watch) to see the wrist panels. Most actions are selectable from these menus without requiring additional face buttons.

The right wrist has a menu of selectable options, and also shows build information. It changes based on the current build state. This can be interacted with a number of different ways:

  • Point at it with the left controller, and push left trigger to select an option
  • Press Up on the right controller stick, roll the stick left or right to highlight an option, and push right trigger to select

The left wrist has a number of tabbed panels with status information, equipment, build quick bar, and scanner. With the addition of Radial menus, you may disable some or all of the left wrist panel tabs in favour of just using the equivalent Radial menus.

Radial Menus

Many button actions now have a related or alternate action when you hold the button, opening a radial menu. For example, in default mode tapping A will open the Build menu, while holding Awill open the Quick build radial menu.

To use a radial menu, while holding the action button to keep it open, move your hand relative to the menu to highlight the desired option and release the button to select.

Some radial menus have additional actions such as switching materials or changing hotbar which can be triggered by using the indicated Trigger or Grip buttons.

Default Satisfactory UI

Satisfactory has many UI screens for managing inventory, storage, machines and other interfaces. While one of these screens is open the controller acts as a 3DOF mouse, emulating a normal mouse to allow you to move the mouse cursor around. Pressing the controller trigger is the same as a mouse click. See the control tips at the bottom of the UI to see what action other controller buttons have.

You can switch which controller is the active pointer by pressing trigger on the controller you want to use.

Gestures

There are some gesture-based actions as alternatives to selecting options from the wrist panel controls:

Swing/thrust Melee weapon Attack!
Swing both hands back and forth while walking
(Experimental: enable in settings)
Sprint!
Left controller to left side of head press Toggle Flashlight
press Toggle HUD
Right controller over right shoulder press Holster equipment
press Open inventory
