Flashing the snesCIC - dkidd928/cartreader GitHub Wiki

The PIC12F629 needs to be flashed with the snesCIC before soldering it to the Cart Reader PCB if you want to dump SA1 SNES games. Follow the link and click on the green "Clone or download" button and choose "Download zip". Then extract the zip and flash the snescic-lock-resync.hex found inside the /cic folder.

  • The easiest way would be to buy the PIC12F629 from http://www.buyicnow.com/it.php?i=114 (SOIC8 variant) and send them the snescic-lock-resync.hex file via email to [email protected] and ask them to flash the chip for you.

  • If you want to flash the PIC yourself you can buy a PICkit3 or a similar programmer like the TL866 and an SOIC 8 adapter from eBay to flash the PIC12F629. More info in this and this forum post.
